Sailer's Differential Diagnosis >> Ferri's

Sailer's Differential Diagnosis is MUCH better than Ferri's Differential Diagnosis. The lists in Sailer for almost all the differentials are much longer. Even though they are much longer, they are still easier to navigate because they are divided into practicable subheadings. Sailer is also physically smaller and the cover is white so you can write your name on it. Furthermore, it is not as if the lists in Ferri's focus down on sinister or common differentials either.
I noted that a nurse practitioner found it better than three other DD books. I may be that she acually preferred the shorter lists. As an office-based psychiatrist I am interested in longer lists. Actually, thinking of you more physical emergency types, I looked up 'hypoxia' and it was not even in Ferri's index!. 'Hypoxemia - arterial' was in Sailer. Sailer gave a differential of 20 according to things like restriction of lung function and distribution impairment. Sailer has won this bout, 10 seconds into the very first round, by KNOCK OUT.
P.S. The only differentials for fever are as follows. 1) Fever with rash, 2) Fever with jaundice, 3) fever in returned travellers. So, if you have a straight forward PUO, it doesn't have a diffential list! Can you belive that? Is there something I'm missing here?

Best pocket DD book

I bought 3 differant pocket books for differential dx, this one was hands down the best. Plus the cover is plastic coated, so it does not bang up easily.
