About the Author
Reginald Owen Morris was a British composer and teacher. He was born in York and was educated at Harrow School, New College, Oxford and the Royal College of Music in London, where he subsequently became professor of counterpoint and composition. Morris was considered a brilliant teacher of counterpoint, and wrote a number of influential texts on the subject. Students of Morris included composers Gerald Finzi, Sir Michael Tippett, Constant Lambert, Robin Milford, Anthony Milner, Edmund Rubbra, Bernard Stevens and Jean Coulthard.

Excellent text

After working with this text for a short two weeks my reading of different clefs and notes with many ledger lines has improved drastically. Great to work on with a partner on the piano, or alone, playing both lines or playing one line and singing the other.

Very useful book

This book does exactly what it should do: it teaches you to read all manner of transpositions and clefs. The only reason why I am not giving it five stars is that it's just so unlovable: it's a mental ordeal! That said, I never would have passed my Fellowship exam for the American Guild of Organists without it.

About the Author
Shay Youngblood is author of the novels Black Girl in Paris, Winter Prophet, Black Power Barbie and a collection of short fiction, The Big Mama Stories. Her plays include, Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery, Talking Bones, Flying Blind, and Communism Killed My Dog. She is the recipient of numerous grants and awards including a Pushcart Prize for fiction, a Lorraine Hansberry Playwriting Award, several NAACP Theater Awards and a 2004 New York Foundation for the Arts, Sustained Achievement Award. Her short stories have been performed at Symphony Space and recorded for NPR's Selected Shorts. Ms. Youngblood received her MFA in Creative Writing from Brown University. She has taught creative writing to faculty and graduate students at NYU, worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in the eastern Caribbean, as an au pair, artist's model, and poet's helper in Paris, and as a creative writing instructor in a Rhode Island women's prison. She was a National Endowment for the Arts sponsored, Japan U.S. Friendship Commission, Creative Artist Fellow (2011-2012) and Dallas Museum of Art, Writer in Residence (2013).

A beautifully written coming of age story, by a wonderfully gifted writer. "Soul Kiss" pulled me along with its original story, characters and language. I love when a novel takes me places I didn't expect, yet when I get there, it makes total sense. Definitely made me hungry to read more works by this author.

Bill Streever wrote the national bestseller Cold and the award-winning Heat. If you track hurricanes, read this book

This book is an in depth review of the history of weather forecasting from the ancient Greeks to your morning weather channel, intertwined with the trials of two new cruising sailors learning the harsh lessons of the ocean for the first time. If you are an arm chair sailor or a circumnavigator wannabe this is mandatory reading. If you ever survived a major storm at sea, you'll nod your head as you read along. Streever knows his stuff, he and his co-captain are 'been there, done that' folks. The morning weather forecast will take on a whole new meaning after you finish this great read.

The main 3 meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner should be well balanced with the right amount of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Out of the total calories, 45% of the calories should be from carbohydrates, 35% from proteins and 20% from fats. The breakfast should be of about 300-350 calories and this can comfortably include 2 light sandwiches or a small serving of upma or seviyaan (any one) with a glass of milk or lassi. The lunch can be of 2 chappatis, a small serving of yogurt and a good amount of vegetable. This would come upto 400 calories. Dinner can be lighter. Have an early dinner and avoid too much carbohydrates at this meal. If you like, eat two rotis for lunch but make it one for dinner. One chappati with a small katori of thin dal, a light salad and a vegetable would make upto 400 calories. Eating these foods will help you keep fit and slim with a glowing skin and healthy hair. I truly believe, “You are what you eat”.
