Kindle edition is too shortened, so it's lost its value

Kindle edition of this book is a shortened version of the printed one.

Only part of the subject material as well as practice questions are included to the Kindle Edition in comparison with the printed (full and fundamental) version. It seems that Manhattan contradicts itself saying that they provide only deep, focused coverage of a specialized area. The subject material is incomplete and few practice questions are presented in this version. There 163 pages but it's due to a large font which is used in the book.

Since the early 1990's, when the first commercial meters started to appear, there have been around 2,000 field applications of MFM for field allocation, production optimisation and well testing. So far, many alternative metering systems have been developed, but none of them can be referred to as generally applicable or universally accurate. Both established and novel technologies suitable to measure the flow rates of gas, oil and water in a three-phase flow are reviewed and assessed within this book. Those technologies already implemented in the various commercial meters are evaluated in terms of operational and economical advantages or shortcomings from an operator point of view. The lessons learned about the practical reliability, accuracy and use of the available technology is discussed. The book suggests where the research to develop the next generation of MFM devices will be focused in order to meet the as yet unsolved problems.
The book provides a critical and independent review of the current status and future trends of MFM, supported by the authors’ strong background on multiphase flow and by practical examples. These are based on the authors’ direct experience on MFM, gained over many years of research in connection with both operators and service companies.
As there are currently no books on the subject of Multiphase Flow Metering for the Oil & Gas industry, this book will fill in the gap and provide a theoretical and practical reference for professionals, academics, and students.

About the Author
Professor Hewitt is an Emeritus Professor of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. Professor Hewitt has worked on a variety of subjects in the general field of chemical engineering but his speciality for several decades now has been in mutliphase flow systems, with particular reference to channel flow and heat transfer. He has published many papers and books in this industrially important area and has lectured on the subject widely throughout the world. He has had a wide experience of industrial application through extensive consultancy and contract work and through his founding of the Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Service (HTFS) at Harwell and Hexxcell Ltd., a spin-out of Imperial College London operating in the area of heat transfer and energy efficiency. Professor Hewitt's contributions to the field have been recognised by his election to the Royal Academy of Engineering (1985), the Royal Society (1990), and the US National Academy of Engineering (1998) in addition to several international awards including Donald Q. Kern Award by AIChE (1981), Max Jakob Award by ASME (1995), and the Luikov Medal by ICHMT (1997). In 2007, he was presented the Global Energy Prize by Vladimir Putin at the World Economic Forum.

It was like being a part of their family!

The final book in the Redwood Pack series was great and a little melancholy also. I loved the whole series and getting to know all of the Jamensons through their good times and bad and seeing them get their HEA's. It was like being a part of their family. Though I'm sad to see this series end, I'm looking forward to Carrie Ann's new series about the Talon Pack and getting to revisit the Jamenson kids. If you haven't read this series yet, grab it you won't be sorry. Great work Carrie Ann!!

An excellent sned off for the Jamensons.....

I went into Fighting Fate with mixed emotions. On one hand I couldn't wait to start and was so looking forward to at last reading Cailin and Logan's story but this was overshadowed by the fact that this is the final instalment in the Redwood Pack series and I didn't want the story to end.....

Carrie didn't disappoint and she finished the series with a bang.... Fighting Fate is a fantastic read and an excellent way to say goodbye to this generation of Jamensons.

Cailin & Logan have been dancing round each other, doing everything they could to avoid facing the obvious attraction between them... Will they finally deal with their feelings and the connection that they seem to have?!
The war that has been raging around the Redwoods is nearing it's climax and everyone knows it - they just don't know what to expect or how things are gonna turn out!!!

So much to deal with and so little time to prepare....

One of the main things I loved about the book was the continued focus on the Jamensons as a family as well as pack... We are reminded again of how important they are to each other and how they would do all and anything they had to for each other!!!

Action, drama, tension, surprises, heat & passion, pain & heartbreak, it's all packed into this final book and makes for a heart-racing (jeez, at times a nigh on heart-stopping!!) ride!

Grab yourself a copy of Fighting Fate, take yourself off somewhere quiet - 'cos you won't want to be disturbed once you start reading - and lose yourself in the final instalment of the Redwood Pack's story!!

** A word of warning before you do start reading ~ you're gonna need tissues... lots & lots of tissues - and maybe take the next day off work to avoid people seeing your big red puffy eyes...or you could wear some dark glasses - just sayin'!! ;)

Good text, bad binding practice and price.

Honestly this is not a review based on any failing of the text or of Amazon. Simply put binder editions are terrible and at this price the fact that the pages will probably be torn apart by the end of semester makes this sales practice unconscionable. Textbook industry in need of serious reform or universities need to start allowing the use of digital edition for open book exams.

FYI I have bound this myself using binding posts and plastic strips. I should not have had to do that for something this expensive. Do yourself a favor, if you can avoid binder editions, do so at all cost.
