Thought provoking and intellectually stimulating.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review, and that's exactly what you'll get. I honestly didn't expect this book to appeal to me at all, in fact, I thought it would be a waste of my time... I'm a 40+ mother of 2 girls - how can I possibly relate to the thoughts of a teenage boy? That's where I was wrong. This was one of the most thought provoking stories I've read in a long while. Seeing things through the eyes of a new believer is enough to make all of us question ourselves and where we are in our walk. It's a good reminder of the passion for Christ that we all felt when He first claimed us. It's also a good story to share with someone who may be on the fence. This book showcased real dilemmas, real struggles, and how God places people in our lives for a specific reason. I really feel like this author is reaching out to people with this story and showing us all that nothing is impossible with God on your side. The initial seed planted came from an unaccepted tip, but what was received was so much more. Once converted, Kyle faces criticism and ridicule from those who are supposed to be his biggest allies. Something that all Christians face at some point in their lives. It also exemplifies the grace that we all receive when coming to know Jesus. The bonus of a sweet love story was just icing on the cake. I will definitely be looking into more books by this author.

A Beautiful Love Story

Nineteen-years old Kyle Reynolds wondered if he was destined to deliver pizzas for the rest of his life, but until he found his purpose in life…it put money in his pocket. When Kyle delivered pizza to a church, little did he realize his life was about to change in a big way.

His grandmother was ill and needed help, so Kyle was volunteered to help her for a week. However; his grandmother was the one who helped him by giving his life to the Lord.

When delivering pizza to a church Kyle saw beautiful Emily Hayden. He felt she was an angel and his heart was stolen…but how was he going to get to know Emily especially since her parents were so protective and she had a secret she wouldn’t tell him because she was afraid if Kyle found out, he would have nothing to do with her.

This is one of the most beautiful love-stories I have read in a long time. Not only is it about a young couple and their love for each other, but also about the most everlasting love that God has for each of us.

This book goes beyond the surface of love and shows the real basis for a lasting love. Mr. Chapin takes the age old question of why does God let bad things happen to good people and answers the question in a way that is easy to understand. Simply God doesn’t let bad things happen….He gave us free-will and our choices sometimes cause things to happen that shouldn’t. Once again Mr. Chapin has written a book that has deeply touched my heart and dug down deep into my soul. It has made me once again want to have a closer relationship with Jesus.

This book is sure to speak to your romantic side while it strengthens you faith. The twists and turns in this beautifully written novel will keep you turning the pages and at the end leave you wanting the story to continue.

A beautiful story!

I received a copy from the author in return for an honest review;

A beautiful story of young love,falling into the grace of God's love and new beginnings.

The characters are easy to relate with and easy to love. The storyline flows flawlessly,which makes reading this story an absolute delight.I loved everything about the story and the characters and I highly recommend it to everyone.Teens and tweens will like it as well.There are many life lessons in this story the need to be shared.

I found Kyle to be an ambitious young man who is trying to figure out life and what he wants from it.He works in a pizza shop but understands that it's just to get him by until he can figure out what he really wants to do in life. He wasn't looking for love.But he knew the moment he set eyes on Emily,it was love.This was a gut feeling and he needed to act on it.

Emily is a sweet young lady who lives for the Lord.She has a secret that she tries to hide from Kyle.Keeping their relationship just over the phone and texting was her way of keeping the secret.But she knows all to well,Kyle will find out her secrets.

With over protective parents Emily is trapped in a sheltered life.They forbid her to see Kyle. But Kyle has learned to trust God in their relationship.He knows in his heart that Emily is the girl that God has appointed to him. And will stop at nothing to make her his.

I really loved this story.It's sweet,blessed,humorous in all the right places.Makes a perfect weekend read.

Vampires! Hot! Killers!

The supernatural novel Bonded by Rosalie Tarr!!!!

Alec is an old fashioned vampire and now he is approaching his 123rd birthday. His main function now is hunting murderous vampires to help regain some sense of the decline of the human race. Aidan is a young and beautiful man who meets Alec who turns out to be his bonded mate which comes as a complete surprise to Alec. Both men appear to be straight and they're trying to deal with their attraction to each other which is very new for them. Now that they are coming to terms with their hot newly connection, a serial killer has now set his sights on the couple.

I enjoyed how the characters tried to fight their attraction to each other and it also comes down to some supernatural powers that might be pulling them together. I was riveted to the story mainly by the great writing of beautiful dialogue and how the author snuck in some great humour. The character of Aidan was so interesting to read as he was human, straight and had a girlfriend which brought on some internal conflicts with what he feels for Alec.

The only issue I had and it wasn't a bad one was at times the story was too neatly tied up and written and needed some edge but by all means it does not ruin the story. If you like reading about vampires, supernatural characters, serial killers, funny friends than Bonded by Rosalie Tarr is the book for you.

light and easy m/m romance

Vampires, romance – I’m in....:) This was a decent read, not earth shattering, nothing too deep but a good way to lose a couple of hours.
Alec was just how his friend Portia described him, kind of lost, didn't really know what to do with himself, a bit sad in a way that he was trying to keep his sense of worth by tracking and killing murderous vampires. Portia's a great friend, and so funny at times. She knew just what he needed, but what neither of them thought that would be was a male bond mate! It took straight guy Alec some time to get used to the idea, he thought he could just leave, ignore the call etc. but the pull of attraction was too great and he had to give in and accept it.
Of course there's the problem of Aiden. He's a) human b) straight and c) has a girlfriend. Alot for Alec to deal with before they can be bonded. Alec is trying to stay away, and yet keeps bumping into Aiden, Aiden feels the same pull though of course he's no idea why, and finds himself talking to Alec, inviting him home and not wanting his girlfriend. Then to add to all that dilemma there's the murderous vampire Lucius who Alec was tracing, who could prove dangerous to both Alec and Aiden.
Its a sweet read, funny in parts, and interesting in the whole straight men attracted to each other conundrum. We're brought up to accept the norm and for most that's typical m/f pairings, so diverging from that means getting to see the downsides, such as other peoples reactions and also changing our own mindset. It's priced at �4.94 for 166 pages. As a one off read that's quite expensive, but if you like light and easy to read paranormal maybe its one you'd re read that would make it better value.
Stars: three. Fun, easy read but a one off only.

Not the usual vampire story.

Don't expect brooding, tragic haunting vampires here. Alec is a nice vampire that keeps his humanity by protecting humans from murderous vampires.

The beginning is slow but well written and I enjoyed his struggle with accepting his bonded mate when he realized it was a man. There wasn't any homophobia here but feelings I'd expect from anyone who suddenly found themselves attracted to someone of the same sex.

The villain is the usual bad vampire so nothing really exciting. The violence while explicit isn't overwhelming and over quickly.

My real problem with the story is the quick acceptance of two straight men being in a homosexual relationship. Yes, it's 'fate' creating the mate bond and they both fight it in the beginning but then quickly get over it and everything is fine. The sex didn't seem realistic considering the story. I'd expect fumbling, insecurity and some timidity about handling the dangly bits. There is none, frotting, first time oral sex and then anal WITHOUT LUBE with no doubts or hesitance. These are two 'Gay For You' men, essentially virgins that not only know what to do but do it well.

Yes, it's a paranormal vampire story so I shouldn't expect anything realistic but when it comes to GFY butt virgins I like the fumbling, hesitance and figuring things out.

All in all it was an enjoyable read and I give it three stars.

Good, Thorough, and Dense, but lacking warmth

This is just a great great adjunct to anybody learning koine Greek. I used Mounce for my primary text, but having everything presented from a different point of view was a big help. The plus of Swetnam is that it is more thorough, more concise, and more extensive. It lacks all the cheerful surplusage of Mounce's text.

The negative is that the condensed format would make for some very dense reading if this were used as one's introductory text. It is practically a straight data-feed!

Good Reference, Bad Textbook

While certainly an expert on the Greek of the New Testament, Swetnam has little grasp on how to convey this knowledge to a wider audience. He presents the material in a mismatched fashion, introducing vocabulary which he never uses in the exercises, and never buidling on previous lessons. He also carries many assumptions, such as assuming that the reader has some grasp of Latin grammer.
That having been said, this text is ideal as a reference for competent Koine Greek students; his vocabulary is expansive, and his treatment of accents is especially thourough (if somewhat dry).

Good Reference, Bad Textbook

This text is good for lists or paradigms and offers lessons with answers. Learning the Greek language will require other texts. I have read several other Greek Grammar texts which provide an understanding of the language and the connection between Greek and the other Indo European languages. The person attempting the study of this beautiful and rich language would do better with A Greek Grammar of the New Testament Vaughan/Gideon, An Exegetical Grammar of the Greek New Testament Chamberlain, A New Short Grammar of the Greek Testament by Robertson and Davis and leaving this text on the shelf.
