About the Author
Jennifer Worth trained as a nurse at the Royal Berk-shire Hospital in Reading, and was later ward sister at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital in London, then the Marie Curie Hospital, also in London. Music had always been her passion, and in 1973 she left nursing in order to study music intensively, teaching piano and singing for about twenty-five years. Jennifer died in May 2011 after a short illness, leaving her husband, Philip; two daughters; and three grandchildren. Her books have all been bestsellers in England.

Best Novella Yet! Well at least that I've read so far!

Another great Novella finished in an hour by this great author!!

Actually to be absolutely honest. I loved this novella better than "One Lat Gift" by Mrs. A! I know surprising, but even though this one was so short, it had so much substance to the story.

I was completely engrossed in this story from beginning to end. I can not really express some details about the book because since it is so short I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. I want everyone to read this book it is absolutely amazing.

This book kind of reminds me of the movie pretty woman. But it has its own originality with it. And with that reason I just love this story completely.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a fast and quick romance to read. Well about billionaire romance is at least ;D

A sweet and complicated love story

This is a beautifully written piece of confection. I loved the characters. Harper was the perfect blend of innocence and desperation and Jameson was equally well described as the confused and damaged alpha type of guy. The dialogue was like real people speak and the story moved steadily. Every time I hear the word Vixen I will think of the book!

Surprising fun short read

Yet another great story from A Zavarelli . I am normally not a huge fan of novellas but this has been a pleasant surprise. It wa short and sweet literally.

Harper Nichols is on the brink of losing everything, from lising her job, to her apartment, and paying off medical bills from her aunt. She needs something and fast. When offered a job as an escort where her best friend works she has no choice but to accept it.

Jameson King needs a girlfriend to take home to his family for Christmas and Harper is that girl. Sweet Harper is not Jameson's normal flavor and is quickly taken in by his mother and sister's but Jameson wants nothing to do with it. During their weeks together, their "relationship " is tested by his mean and stand offish attitude, his ex girlfriend staking her claim and his brother that he can't stand.

But one night, during Christmas dinner their feelings for each other become to much to ignore and they share a sex filled night, but that leaves them at an impasse the next day when Jameson returns to his jackass ways. Wanting to leave before she is embarrassed anymore, she skips out on him and his wonderful family only to be involved in a car accident. Will Jameson lose Harper forever or fight to get her back.

About the Author
Philip J. Pratt is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Computer Science at Grand Valley State University, where he taught for 33 years. His teaching interests include database management, systems analysis, complex analysis, and discrete mathematics. He has authored more than 75 textbooks and has co-authored three levels of Microsoft Office Access 2013 books for this popular Shelly Cashman Series and A Guide to SQL.

Mary Z. Last has taught computer information systems since 1984. She retired from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, Texas, where she was an Associate Professor and the Director of the Center for Effectiveness in Learning and Teaching. Ms. Last is actively involved in the Computing Educator's Oral History Project that encourages young women to pursue careers in math and science. She has been a contributing author to the Shelly Cashman Series since 1992. She also authors many instructor resources for database texts.

Great book! Really test and expands your knowledge.

I am very impressed with this book. Not only for the information withing the chapter exercises but with the ability to use your skills in labs and practice database to expand and really test your knowledge.

It has a lot of problems even within the chapter work that goes beyond things that have been covered. It has a color key for those things. So you really do have to think when using this book. It isn't just a step-by-step follow along without thinking and you will complete the chapter easily.

You will know access if you go through this whole book.

I like the way that the sections are placed. The step by step following the chapter makes learning Access very non-overwhelming. I have never used Access before this book and it's making this class easier than I would have thought it would be.

COMMON CORE

Be warned that although this says 1998 edition, you will be getting a more modern copy that WILL include Common Core alignment. I was disappointed in that fact, but the company at least responded to my complaint and explained that those copies are now out of print and are not available to purchase new. Wish I had known that before I ordered, but I don't want to go to the trouble to send back, so we are using it nonetheless.

Not at all what I expected!

When I placed my order for this book, I was under the impression that the book would be usable. The first 5 weeks of the book have writing not only in pencil (which I would have had no problem erasing), but also in pen as well as stickers and stamps on the pages. There is no way I can use the first 5 weeks of this book. I am very unhappy with this purchase. Definitely wasted my money and should have bought a new book.

I am an ESOL teacher. I bought Daily Language Review to use with five fifth graders every day. The students love these as warm ups at the beginning of my class. The 4 or 5 questions are just the right amount of work for a good warm up. My students are learning a lot as they correct the mistakes in the sentences and complete other activities like synonym or antonym recall. Basically, this book is an excellent resource for any third grade teacher who works in a language classroom.

About the Author
Koitsu Yokoyama devoted his career to the study of Buddhist "Consciousness Only" (vijnaptimatra) philosophy during the second period in the development of Mahayana Buddhism. A Buddhist Studies scholar, Yokoyama earned his doctorate in Indian Philosophy at the graduate school of Tokyo University, and is currently an Honorary Professor at Rikkyo University and Vice Chancellor of Shogen Junior College. He has published many works on Consciousness Only philosophy in Japanese, including "A Consciousness-Only-Dictionary of Buddhism," published to commemorate the 1300th anniversary of the Kofukuji Temple in Nara, Japan.

I love Yokoyama's approach to explaining the Representation Only Theory and how he ties it into living a life for enlightenment and for others. His easy to understand language and plentiful use of analogies and metaphors make following along with him a breeze. I am very interested in this Buddhist theory now that I have read this book and I would recommend this book to everyone. Such a good encouraging read!

Translation is really close to the original Japanese text and I find it is easier to comprehend compare to

About the Author
Matt Cartmill is a Professor in the Department of Biological Anthropology and Anatomy at Duke University. His areas of interest include: Bipedal locomotion, Gait analysis, and Origin and differentiation of primates in addition to several other subjects.

Fred H. Smith is a biological antrhopologist with specific interests in human paleontology and functional anatomy. He teaches courses in human paleontology, human osteology, introductory biological anthropology, and the paleolithis prehistory of Europe and Africa.

best book on the market

this is far the best textbook on human evolution currently available on the market. Matt Cartmill's insights into evolutionary mechanisms, mammalian & primate evolution, combined with Fred Smith's vast knowledge of human fossil record make this a very happy intelectual marriage. Further, both are great teachers with years of experience working with students. Although the book is quite detailed and voluminous, don't be scared off by this. The way they use scientific data is to tell a story - it is not ( unlike some other books out there) just another too detailed overview of everything there is. These guys tell us a human story and make sure to guide us along the way. Easy to read and with extensive list of used references. If you're seriously getting into the field of paleoanthropology, treat yourself with this volume. You won't be sorry.

Excellent Current Update in a Field Ever in Motion

We have badly needed a readable book on this subject that incorporates the latest discoveries and can relate them to the major landmarks in paleoanthropology. I especially enjoyed the section on Saint Cesaire, a crucial figure in the Late Neanderthal period.
I do not agree with the authors' explanation of the single-species theory. Its modification is that it began after Lucy, specifically with the great example we have of Nariokotome Boy. It is highly possible that, from that point on, we have had a single species with high diversity. Nariokotome Boy straddles the bridge between present-day East African typologies and Lucy, but it is more of "us" than anything we have preceding it. This epic-in-a-nutshell book is too cautious with the Cro-Magnon remains, and not as informative as we would have liked about the period c 34,00-26,000 BC. It does not mention Chauvet Cave. But anything from Prof Fred Smith is most welcome. His tone is always balanced and he never goes to extremes. His paper on the Assimilation Theory remains a classic landmark in Modern Paleoanthropology. He has a good instinct to find the center in a wide spectrum of views, which in itself is a special talent. He helps to bring the extreme wings under pressure without any seeming effort. But for my preferences, I felt the authors dwelt too much on the non-sapiens and too little on the current cutting edge of the newest discoveries of sapiens fossils. But this is certainly a very helpful and readable update contribution to the field.

Trouble with Kindle figures; a very good book.

The problem about technical text Kindle Editions it's the figures. They are out off text. You need to go backward and forward (annotate in a notebook the abreviations, etc.) to understand the text and to watch the figure; it's not good.

The text is good and extensive. The approach in palaeobiology of our ancestors (begning with bacteria, fish, amphibians, etc.) is through; it is very good book.
